Cornell World Series of Poker!
Our annual WSOP event, held in Toni Morrison!
On Saturday, March 16th, Poker Association of Cornell hosted the WSOP in collaboration with Cornell Quant Fund (CQF) and our lovely sponsor, Susquehanna International Group (SIG)! This is our biggest event of the year, and we were proud to see over 70 students from many different majors attend the tournament.
It was nothing short of incredible as we saw insane plays from everyone (and some St. Patty’s day luck as well…)
Ian trying to scout which table will have the greatest cooler of all time…
Our final table was nothing short of exhilarating as AKo falls to 64o!! And later AKo is beat again (poor Drew)?! Then A3o triumphs over pocket Kings?!
Congratulations to Alex Baek for triumphantly winning 1st place, walking away with over $560, Siggy the Shark, and a SIG-branded JBL speaker! Also huge congrats to Alton, Drew, Chris, and Bradley for coming in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th, respectively, each walking away with various prizes like speakers and bucket hats.

Special thanks to Vicky and Jerry for helping students explore opportunities and roles at SIG! They will be incoming full-time quant traders at SIG.
Again, this would not have been possible without everyone’s enthusiasm and participation! We hope to see everyone come back even stronger during next year’s WSOP event :)
If you would like to follow the details of the final table showdowns, please feel free to check out our Recap Slides! We also provide some color on the demographics of our participants by compiling data regarding each student’s college and major. Thank you Ian for doing the stat lord’s work!
